About

Help break the cycle of poverty in the life of a child.

Through investing in SPICE, you provide children access to education, nurturing in the Christian faith, and a bright future.

More than 800 children participate in the church-based, holistic child sponsorship program in India and Nepal.

When you give $18 per month, you provide a child …

  • Access to education through tuition assistance at a nearby school
  • Christian discipleship through daily devotions and participation at a local BIC church
  • Clean water
  • Nutritious meals
  • Nurturing care in a safe environment provided by Christian houseparents
  • Medical care

Since SPICE’s founding more than 60 years ago, we’ve seen the power of the program to free children from illiteracy and poverty.

Many have gone on to successful careers, becoming business owners, professionals, and leaders in their local communities. Nurtured spiritually, today a high percentage are committed Christians, active in ministry and in their local church. Discipled and equipped, graduates testify that SPICE has transformed the course of their lives.

Investing in a child today has lasting impact on them, their families, and their communities.

The SPICE program is led by the Brethren in Christ Churches in India and Nepal and supported by BIC U.S. World Missions.

When supporting a child, you’ll receive a sponsorship card with the child’s picture and personal information, including their age, grade in school, birthday, occupation of parents, career aspirations, and where they live.

SPICE Gift Fund

Give a Christmas gift to a child through the SPICE Gift Fund. You can give to the Gift Fund throughout the year, and, in November, we send the designated funds to SPICE administrators who purchase presents for every child in the program. Gifts vary from year to year based on need (past examples: blankets, school uniforms, and school supplies).
